Q: Do I need to open an account at the web site?
A: Yes! By opening an account you become a registered user of the system. This way the Organising Committee knows you are interested in the congress and will keep you posted. Furthermore, you need to open an account prior to registering for the congress and submitting a paper.
Q: Why do I need to become a registered user and then register for the congress?
A: This is a smart way to minimize accidental use and/or misuse of the congress’ web site.
Q: How do I open an account?
A: Click on the link “create an account” under the member menu part of the home page and follow the instructions on your screen. Please note that all fields should be field in appropriately. Once you submit the form an e-mail will be forwarded to your nominated account informing you that the procedure is completed and your account created. Next, follow the link on that e-mail to activate your account. Now you have become a registered user. If you do not see the confirmation mail in your inbox, please also check in the unwanted or spam directories.
Q: How do I register for the congress?
A: Once you become a registered user, log in the system using your username and password (member menu area). Select the link “online registration form” and fill in all necessary fields of the form indicated by an asterisk). Once you are done submit the form by pressing the “submit” button. You will receive an automatically generated mail at your nominated e-mail account confirming that your data have been sent and within 2-3 days you will receive an e-mail from the Organising Committee. You are now registered. If you have a problem using the on line registration facility, please follow the link “registration instuctions” having logged in the system, under the member menu area. You will find a copy of the registration form in doc and pdf forma that you can download by clicking on the respective icon. Fill in the form and follow the instructions to send it either by e-mail or by fax.
Q: How do I pay the congress fees?
A: Follow the instructions under the “Registration fees” link on the home page.
Q: How do I inform the Organising Committee that the fees have been deposited?
A: Once you have deposited the fees to the nominated bank account please remember to scan the bank slip (having your name printed on it) and save it at jpg, pdf or doc format, making sure the file size does not exceed 1Mb at the most (you may find more details under the “Registration fees” link on the home page). Log in the system under the member menu area using your username and password and follow the link “bank slip upload”, (under the member menu area). Fill in the required fields and select the file containing the scanned bank slip from your HDD or flash memory. Click the submit button to upload the slip. You will receive an automatically generated mail at your nominated e-mail account confirming that your data have been sent and within 2-3 days you will receive an e-mail from the Organising Committee. Your account is now settled and you are ready to enjoy the 6th ESSC congress.
Q: How do I submit an abstract?
A: Follow the instructions under the link “abstract submissions”. We strongly encourage you to use the on line submission facility to upload your abstract(s), following the link “abstract submission” accessible under the member menu area once you have logged in the system. Please note that prior to submitting an abstract, you first need to open an account (become a registered user) and register to the congress.
Q: How do I make travel and accommodation arrangements?
A: Participants will have to make their own arrangements for travel, accommodation and visa if required. Please browse through the relevant links of the congress site, where a list of useful addresses are provided (and will be expanded progressively).
